Complete Blood Count (CBC)
A blood test that provides information about your overall health by counting the amounts of white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets in your blood. It can help diagnose conditions like anemia, infection, and certain types of leukemia, and also measure hemoglobin and hematocrit levels
Platelet Count
The Platelet Count test measures the number of platelets (thrombocytes) in the blood. Platelets are small cell fragments that play a crucial role in blood clotting and wound healing. This test helps evaluate how well the blood can form clots and is used to detect or monitor bleeding disorders, bone marrow diseases, or other conditions affecting platelet production or destruction
ABO Blood typing
The ABO Blood Typing test identifies an individual’s blood group based on the presence or absence of specific antigens (A and B) on the surface of red blood cells and corresponding antibodies in the plasma. The four main blood groups determined by this system are A, B, AB, and O.
ESR
The ESR test measures the rate at which red blood cells settle at the bottom of a test tube over one hour. It helps detect inflammation or infection in the body. Elevated ESR values may indicate inflammatory diseases, infections, autoimmune disorders, or malignancies.
Bleeding Time, Clotting Time
Bleeding Time (BT): Measures the time it takes for bleeding to stop after a small skin puncture, reflecting platelet function and vessel integrity.
Clotting Time (CT): Measures the time required for blood to clot in a test tube, assessing intrinsic coagulation pathway function.
Malarial Smear
The Malarial Smear test detects the presence of Plasmodium parasites in red blood cells through microscopic examination of stained blood films (thick and thin smears).
Hbg/Hct
The Hemoglobin and Hematocrit test measures the amount of hemoglobin (the oxygen-carrying protein in red blood cells) and the proportion of red blood cells in the blood. Hemoglobin (Hb/Hgb): Indicates the concentration of hemoglobin in the blood. Low levels suggest anemia or blood loss, while high levels may indicate dehydration or polycythemia.
Hematocrit (Hct): Represents the percentage of blood volume made up of red blood cells. It helps determine if the blood is too thin or too concentrated.
